In the fall of 2017, The Gazette gathered a handful of Iowans to explore and discuss issues impacting the state. Every hosted conversation brought a unique perspective that crossed party lines, industries, and experiences. While every meet-up took its own distinctive path, the constant was a focus on solutions and actions Iowans could take to learn more.
Through a pandemic and derecho, 2020 persuaded the Iowa Ideas team to think beyond the traditional in-person event. At a time when Iowa had the greatest need to gather, share ideas and offer solutions, a fully virtual, free Iowa Ideas. That year the conference welcomed more than 1,200 participants.
Today, Iowa Ideas carries a statewide footprint that features hundreds of local, state, and national speakers, with elements of surprise and attendee engagement. Throughout the year, more than 95 advisory council members collaborate with The Gazette news division to identify session topics and panelists that will set the course for an unforgettable conference experience. In-Depth Weeks unpack complex issues-breaking them down into smaller sessions to focus on highly anticipated topics at the full conference. Connections are made among policymakers and those with firsthand experience of the most challenging Iowa issues. Collaborations take shape as attendees engage within and outside of their industries along with engaged Iowans across the state. Each session is recorded to keep the conversations and ideas flowing.
On the heels of a milestone tenth anniversary, The Gazette is proud to bring you Iowa Ideas 2025. Through the support of generous sponsors, the In-Depth Weeks and Fall Conference remain free for all who wish to participate. Stay with us as sessions, speakers and experiences for this year's conference are added to the Iowa Ideas website, and our virtual conference platform Zoom Events.
